Mazda CX-3 is well-equipped to be driven with full confidence. Collision protection is world-class, thanks to a highly rigid
SKYACTIV-BODY integrating multiple SRS airbags for maximum safety.
Supplemental Restraint System (SRS)
SRS airbag systems aim to improve safety by working in conjunction with a seatbelt to minimize impact to occupants in a collision. The front airbags for the driver's seat and passenger's seat deploy when a moderate or severe frontal impact is detected, mitigate impact to the head and chest.
Hill Launch Assist (HLA)
Hill Launch Assist (HLA) helps the driver take-off smoothly when stopped on a slope. When taking off on a slope, this function helps prevent the car from rolling backward when the driver moves his or her foot from the brake to the accelerator pedal by maintaining an automatic brake. On gentle slopes, the automatic brake releases immediately when the accelerator is pressed to ensure a smooth start. On steeper slopes, the brake is released after sufficient torque has been generated. The system operates automatically when stopped on a slope so the driver can take off smoothly and safely without making any special effort.
Emergency Signal System (ESS)
The Emergency Signal System (ESS) causes the hazard lights to flash at high speed if the driver suddenly brakes when traveling at high speed. This helps prevent collisions by warning following vehicles that the car is braking hard. If the vehicle comes to a complete stop, the hazard lights switch to a normal flashing speed to help prevent rear-end collisions.
Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM)
BSM alert drivers of the presence of vehicles approaching from behind and in the adjacent lane on either side by displaying an icon in the appropriate door mirror.
Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA)
RCTA uses radar sensors to alert the driver when it detects vehicles approaching from either side during reversing operations.
